Starlink

The Starlink satellite constellation project is by SpaceX, Elon Musk CEO. To provide worldwide internet access the constellation will

consist of thousands of small satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) working with ground transceivers. This decade long, 10 billion dollar project plans to sell

some of the 570 lb spacecraft for Military, Scientific and Exploratory purposes. The project began back in 2015. The first two satellites were launched

in 2018, followed in 2019 by 60 more. They continue in 2020 launching 60 satellites at a time aiming for 1,584 to be in LEO by late 2021 or 2022. The satellites use

Hall-effect Thrusters with Krypton gas as the reaction mass for orbit raising and station keeping. The FCC has submitted filings in SpaceX behalf to arrange

a spectrum for 30,000 additional Starlink satellites to supplement the 12,000 already approved. Global Broadband Internet is the goal. To provide satellite

internet connectivity to underserved areas of the entire planet as well as competitively priced service to urban areas. Cash flow from this project will be used to fund SpaceX Mars missions.
