Everyone used to think the sun moved around the earth every day. Then we got smart and realized the Earth was just rotating and we thought the sun was standing still. Then we got smarter and realized that the sun too was moving, around the center of the Milky Way. It takes about 230 million years for the sun to make an orbit around the entire galaxy.

In other words, the last time that the Sun was in its current position in space around the Milky Way, dinosaurs ruled the Earth. in fact, this Sun orbit has only happened 20.4 times since the Sun itself formed 4.6 billion years ago.
