Vegemite [ vej-uh-mahyt ]
an Australian vegetable extract used as a flavoring or spread.

Vegemite is a spread primarily consumed in Australia. The exact ingredients are a secret but it is made from Brewer’s yeast. It contains B vitamins and practically no fat. It is found in the homes of 80% of Australians and 22 million jars are produced for the 1.2 billion servings to be consumed each year. 90 percent of the ingredients come from Australia and only 2 % of the jars made are exported overseas.
