My 8th Inductee into my Sitcom Hall of Fame is the show Gilligan’s Island.

“Gilligan’s Island” is a classic American television sitcom that aired from September 26, 1964, to April 17, 1967. Created by Sherwood Schwartz[1], the show revolves around the misadventures of seven castaways who are stranded on a deserted island in the South Pacific. It’s known for its enduring popularity and cultural impact.

Raquel Welch Dies

Her career spanned over 50 years starring in over 30 films and 50 television series and appearances.

Raquel Welch was born as Jo Raquel Tejada on September 5, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. She was the first child of Armando Carlos Tejada Urquizo and Josephine Sarah Hall. Her father, Armando, was an aeronautical engineer from La Paz, Bolivia. When she was two years old her family moved to San Diego California where she attended the Pacific Beach Presbyterian Church every Sunday with her mother.

Dawn Wells “Mary Ann” Dies

Mary Ann or Ginger?

We all know her best as Mary Ann Summers, stranded on Gilligan’s Island from September 26, 1964, to April 17, 1967. She was born in Reno, Nevada October 18, 1938, and in 1959 would be crowned Miss Nevada and compete for Miss America in 1960. She made her acting debut on ABC’s The Roaring ’20s and the movie The New Interns.
