I watched the 1957  Universal-International, science-fiction/horror movie “The Monolith Monsters” on Svengoolie. It was produced by Howard Christie (Bud Abbott and Lou Costello Meet the Invisible Man, Abbott and Costello Go to Mars, Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Kops, Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy, and TV such as Wagon Train, The Virginian, Larado) , and directed by John Sherwood (The Creature Walks Among Us).

The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971)

King Kong Escapes (1967)

Finally, Svengoolie is showing a Doctor Who movie! Wait, that is Doctor Hu in the 1967 Universal release of the monster/Sci-Fi movie “King Kong Escapes”. The doctor has created a robotic King Kong (Mechani-Kong) to dig for the highly radioactive Element X, only found at the North Pole. The radiation stops the robot so Dr. Hu has to capture the real King Kong to carry out his mission. The doctor is patterned off the James Bond villains, Blofeld and Dr. No.

Secret Squirrel

When I was a child I loved Secret Squirrel, the spy, designation 000, created by Hanna-Barbera. The series debut was September 12, 1965 in The World of Atom Ant and Secret Squirrel prime-time special on NBC. The series was called The Atom Ant/Secret Squirrel Show and aired from October 2, 1965 until September 2, 1967.
