#1 Record, the debut album by the American rock band Big Star, was released in August 1972 by Ardent Records. At the time, Big Star was composed of Alex Chilton, Chris Bell, Andy Hummel, and Jody Stephens. The group formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in the early 1970s, with Bell and Chilton—two songwriters of distinct but complementary sensibilities—at its creative center.

“Anyone for Tennis” is a song by the British rock band Cream. The song was written by Eric Clapton and Martin Sharp and was released as a single in 1968. The song was written for the movie The Savage Seven and was Clapton’s second collaaboration with Sharp.

Colored Vinyl – We’re An American Band – Grand Funk

Now these fine ladies, they had a plan, they were out to meet the boys in the band, they said, “Come on dudes, let’s get it on”, and we proceeded to tear that hotel down

It was July 1973 and the song “We’re An American Band” was all over the radio. I purchased the Capitol album and was shocked when I got home and opened it up. I found a bright yellow vinyl record inside with a custom label. The only colored records I had ever seen were some of the children’s records my Mother bought me as a child.
