Johnny Horton’s 1959 Columbia Records single “The Battle of New Orleans” backed with “All for the Love of a Girl” became one of the defining country-pop releases of its era and helped establish Horton as one of the premier story-song performers in American music. Released on April 6, 1959,

I will discuss a whole album of covers by the band Deep Purple this time. It is called Turning to Crime and was released on November 21, 2022. The album was created following a suggestion by Bob Ezrin, who has been Deep Purple’s producer since 2013.

Stacks of 45’s – Sink The Bismarck/The Same Old Tale The Crow Told Me

The Germans had the biggest ship, they had the biggest guns

When I was young before I had cassettes, the only good way of making a playlist of songs was to stack 45s on the turntable. I would arrange for them to play my favorite songs in my favorite order. These posts are about records I had in my stacks.
