The Sensuikan I-400-class submarine was among the most remarkable and ambitious naval projects undertaken by Japan during the Second World War, conceived at a time when Japanese strategists sought ways to strike at distant Allied targets with an element of surprise. The idea originated in 1942 after the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Doolittle Raid on Tokyo, when the Imperial Japanese Navy recognized the vulnerability of fixed bases and the need to project air power across the Pacific.

Sushi Ken

Sushi Ken is in Newnan, Georgia at 1067 Bullsboro Drive, in the same parking lot as Walmart and Hobby Lobby. It serves Japanese, Sushi and Poke Bowls. They are open for inside dining, all employees were wearing masks and they check the customers temperatures before seating. Sushi Ken is open 11am to 2pm – 4:30pm to 9pm Mon – Thurs, 11am to 2pm – 4:30 to 10 pm Fri, Noon to 10pm Sat and Noon to 9pm Sundays.

Battle of Los Angeles 1942

After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, December 7 1941, and the entry of the United States into World War II, the following day, tension in the states were high, and rightfully so. The West coast was particularly nervous with rumors of Japanese submarines cruising the waters near Juneau Alaska and a Japanese aircraft carrier off the coast of San Francisco Bay Area.
