The Varsity

I’ve been eating at The Varsity since I was born.  Daddy worked at Automobile Glass back then,  which wad located in the parking lot of the downtown location of The Varsity.  When we would go on school trips to Atlanta,  they would stop at The Varsity for lunch.  Mother loved Hastings, a lawn and garden place,  located across the the street from  The Varsity Jr., Lindbergh and Cheshire Bridge Road. We would eat at The Varsity in Athens when going to Georgia events.  I don’t know how many times we went to the downtown Varsity after a concert!. The Varsity has always been one of my favorites.
[From TheVarsity.com] “What’ll ya have… What’ll ya have?” There’s no friendlier greeting than the one you’ll receive when you step up to the counter at The Varsity. And that’s just the beginning of what makes The Varsity so special. There’s not a faster, fresher, or more fun-filled dining experience like it anywhere! Gordy family-owned and operated since 1928, The Varsity is a downtown Atlanta institution, and The World’s Largest Drive-in Restaurant.
Visiting The Varsity before a big game, or anytime for a quick, delicious meal is more than just dining out, it’s experiencing an iconic part of Atlanta’s culture. Now, with six locations and growing, The Varsity is the nearly ninety year-old fun place to eat that keeps getting better with age.

Skinwalker Ranch

[From Wikipedia] Skinwalker Ranch, also known as Sherman Ranch, is a property located on approximately 512 acres (207,2 ha) southeast of BallardUtah that is reputed to be the site of paranormal and UFO-related activities.[1] Its name is taken from the skin-walker of Navajo legend concerning vengeful Shaman.

UFO reports in the Uintah Basin were publicized during the 1970s.[2] Claims about the ranch first appeared in 1996 in the Salt Lake City, Utah Deseret News,[3] and later in the alternative weekly Las Vegas Mercury as a series of articles by investigative journalist George Knapp. These early stories detailed the claims of a family that allegedly experienced inexplicable and frightening events after they purchased and occupied the property.

Pi Zero Camera

[From https://picamera.readthedocs.io/%5D

The 1.2 model of the Raspberry Pi Zero includes a small form-factor CSI port which requires a camera adapter cable to attach a camera module to a Pi Zero:

  1. Remove the existing camera module’s cable by gently lifting the collar on the camera module and pulling the cable out.
  2. Next, insert the wider end of the adapter cable with the conductors facing in the same direction as the camera’s lens.
  3. Finally, attach the adapter to the Pi Zero by gently lifting the collar at the edge of the board (be careful with this as they are more delicate than the collars on the regular CSI ports) and inserting the smaller end of the adapter with the conductors facing the back of the Pi Zero.

Your setup should look something like this:
2.2. Testing

Now, apply power to your Pi. Once booted, start the Raspberry Pi Configuration utility and enable the camera module:
_images/enable_camera.png
You will need to reboot after doing this (but this is one-time setup so you won’t need to do it again unless you re-install your operating system or switch SD cards). Once rebooted, start a terminal and try the following command:

raspistill -o image.jpg

If everything is working correctly, the camera should start, a preview from the camera should appear on the display and, after a 5 second delay it should capture an image (storing it as image.jpg) before shutting down the camera. Proceed to the Basic Recipes.
If something else happens, read any error message displayed and try any recommendations suggested by such messages. If your Pi reboots as soon as you run this command, your power supply is insufficient for running your Pi plus the camera module (and whatever other peripherals you have attached).

I Sell the Dead (2008)

I watched the 2008 I Sell the Dead on Netflix DVD.  It was alright,  I would give it 2.5 out of 5.
[From Wikipedia]  I Sell the Dead is a 2008 horror comedy, the feature film debut from Irish director Glenn McQuaid.[3] The film is a period horror comedy about grave robbing and stars Dominic MonaghanRon PerlmanLarry Fessenden and Angus Scrimm.[4]
While awaiting his execution for murder and grave robbery, Arthur Blake (Dominic Monaghan) is visited by Father Duffy (Ron Perlman), who wishes to obtain a statement from the condemned to be used as a cautionary tale. Arthur denies that he is a murderer, a crime for which his former partner, Willie Grimes (Larry Fessenden), has already been executed by guillotine. However, Blake freely admits to being a grave robber, and begins to recount his career with Willie.

This Island Earth (1955)

Watched 1955 Sci-Fi movie This Island Earth on Svengoolie. I thought the special effects were excellent for the age of the flick.  I would give it 3.75 of 5.
This Island Earth is a 1955 American science fiction film from Universal-International, produced by William Alland, directed by Joseph M. Newman and Jack Arnold, that stars Jeff MorrowFaith Domergue and Rex Reason. It is based on the eponymous 1952 novel by Raymond F. Jones, which was originally published in the magazine Thrilling Wonder Stories as three related novelettes: “The Alien Machine” in the June 1949 issue, “The Shroud of Secrecy” in December 1949, and “The Greater Conflict” in February 1950. The film was released in 1955 as a double feature with Abbott and Costello Meet the Mummy. Upon initial release, the film was praised by critics, who cited the special effects, well-written script, and eye-popping Technicolor prints as being its major assets.[4][5] In 1996, it was edited down and lampooned in Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Movie, a spin-off of the popular syndicated movie riffing television series Mystery Science Theater 3000. Scream Factory has released the film on Blu-ray with a new 4K scan of the interpositive, featuring two aspect ratios: 1.85:1 and 1.37:1.[6]

Elementary Ends

I finished the Elementary TV Crime Series on CBS. it ran from 2012 until 2019. Never missed an episode and I would give it 4 out of 5.
Elementary is an American procedural drama television series that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle‘s character Sherlock Holmes. It was created by Robert Doherty and stars Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson. The series premiered on CBS on September 27, 2012. It is set and filmed primarily in New York City.[1] With 24 episodes per season, by the end of season two Jonny Lee Miller became the actor who had portrayed Sherlock Holmes the most in television or film.[2] The show follows Holmes, a recovering drug addict and former consultant to Scotland Yard, as he assists the New York City Police Department in solving crimes. His indifference to police procedure often leads to conflict with Captain Thomas Gregson (Aidan Quinn), although the two still remain respectful of one another. Holmes is accompanied by Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu), who initially acts as his sober companion. She is a former surgeon and was hired by Sherlock’s father to help him in his rehabilitation. They eventually begin to work together on his cases, and she becomes Holmes’ apprentice and then partner. The series also features Holmes’ ongoing conflict with his nemesis Jamie Moriarty (Natalie Dormer). Other supporting roles include Jon Michael Hill as Detective Marcus Bell, Rhys Ifans as Sherlock’s brother Mycroft Holmes, and John Noble as Sherlock’s father Morland Holmes.

Before the series premiered, it was met with some criticism given it followed closely on the heels of the BBC‘s modern adaptation Sherlock.[3] After the premiere, it was picked up for a full season and later an extra two episodes.[4][5] The season two premiere was partly filmed on location in London.[6] The series has since been well received by critics, who have praised the performances, writing, novel approach to the source material, and fresh modern twist detailed throughout the show’s New York–based adaptation down to the size of the brownstone first seen in the series premiere.

On March 25, 2016, CBS renewed the series for a fifth season, which premiered on October 2, 2016.[7][8] On May 13, 2017, CBS renewed the series for a sixth season.[9] On November 29, 2017, CBS ordered an additional eight episodes bringing the sixth season total up to 21.[10] It premiered on April 30, 2018.[11] On May 12, 2018, CBS renewed the series for a 13 episode seventh season.[12] On December 17, 2018, it was announced that the series would end after the seventh season.[13]

The seventh and final season premiered on May 23, 2019 and concluded on August 15, 2019.[14]
