These individuals were a singer, songwriter, musician and film composer, who was the lead singer for the group Country Joe and the Fish; a singer, who was the lead vocalist for the rock band Boston from 2007 on; a singer in the Hi-Fives, Starliters, and the Rascals; and was a movie/TV star known for Ghostbusters and Charles in Charge.

Tokes (Part One)

“the smell of death surrounds you”

A toke refers to the act of inhaling a puff from a cigarette, cigar, or pipe, most commonly associated with smoking cannabis. When someone takes a toke, they inhale the smoke or vapor into their lungs, allowing the active substances—such as nicotine or THC (the psychoactive compound in cannabis)—to be absorbed.

Richway and Kmart Record Departments

The roofs were built with giant, almost pyramid-like skylights in which you could look up to see the weather while you were shopping.

Richway in Roswell, Georgia was a central and important location in my early record universe. My Father shopped there, and it was fairly close to my school. They also had a well-stocked and interesting record department for someone who was new to the vinyl collecting hobby like me.

Potato Mystery

Maybe the butler did it

My friend Emily, from Boston, Massachusetts, recently came upon a mystery involving a potato. She posted the following on Facebook …

Yesterday, while walking through the neighborhood, my friend Sarah and I noticed this potato sitting on a railing (Photo 1). Today, I walked by again and the potato has moved off of the railing and is now leaning against the house (Photo 2). I do not know the origin or purpose of this mystery potato, but I do have a ton of questions.
