Randy Meisner was an American musician and songwriter best known as a founding member of the iconic rock band, the Eagles. He was born on March 8, 1946, in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, USA. He developed an interest in music at a young age and learned to play the guitar and bass.

What is Colitas?

On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair, warm smell of colitis rising up through the air.

Hotel California is an Eagles song written by Don Felder, Don Henley, and Glenn Frey. The song opens with the lines, “On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair. Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air”. This had me always wondering what Colitas was. I had assumed it was a plant, or flower, growing in the desert. I wasn’t really that wrong.

Eagles – Doyle’s Space: Music Hall of Fame

My 5th inductee of 2023, in my Doyle’s Space Music Hall of Fame, and my 17th inductee overall is The Eagles.

The Eagles are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California in 1971. They are known for their harmonies, intricate guitar work, and well-crafted songwriting. Glenn Frey and Don Henley first met in 1970 when they were hired as session musicians for Linda Ronstadt’s backing band.

Live Hits: Seven Bridges Road – The Eagles

There is moonlight and moss in the trees, Down the Seven Bridges Road

There are some songs that were bigger, sometimes a Billboard hit, in their concert recorded version. They may have a studio-recorded counterpart but the live version, in this case, was bigger. I’ll stay away from the ones that have a “fake” live audience. The last criteria, it has to be a favorite of mine.
