Sinead O’Connor Dies

Propelled in part by a haunting video that played in heavy MTV rotation, O’Connor’s version of “Nothing Compares 2 U” became a worldwide hit and was nominated for Record of the Year at the Grammys.

Sinead Marie Bernadette O’Connor was born in the Cascia House Nursing Home at 13 Pembroke Road, Dublin, on 8 December 1966. She was named Sinéad after Sinéad de Valera, the mother of the doctor presiding over the delivery, Éamon de Valera, Jnr., and Bernadette in honor of Saint Bernadette of Lourdes. She was the third of five children.

My Favorite Albums – A Different Light – The Bangles

Walking down your street, with a love that I can’t hide
I’ve got one thing on my mind, yeah, I’ll even sacrifice my pride

My second favorite album, by The Bangles, is their January 2, 1986 “Different Light”. It came about 1 1/2 years after their debut studio album “All Over The Place“. “Different Light”, on Columbia Records, would be their most successful album reaching number 2 on the Billboard 200. Five singles were released from this album.
