Allan Melvin was an American character actor whose warm voice and affable screen presence made him a familiar face on television from the 1950s through the 1980s. He was born on February 18, 1923, in Kansas City, Missouri, but grew up in New York City. His early interest in the performing arts led him to Columbia University, where he majored in journalism and played on the football team.

“Sugar, Sugar” / “Melody Hill” – Doyle’s Space: Music Hall of Fame – SOS Award

My first SOS Award goes to Sugar, Sugar by the Archies!

The SOS awards (Stand Out Singles) will go to some of my favorite singles. The rules are that the single was released in the United States, and is a 7″, 45 RPM record. While it will be a bonus if the single charted well, or has a great B-side, that will not affect the awarding.

Album Art – Joe Petagno

When you think of Led Zeppelin you get the image of the iconic Icarus Swan Song logo that is so closely associated with Jimmy Page and company. It’s the perfect image for a band like Led Zeppelin, a timeless piece of art that just feels right in the lore of classic rock.

This is where I’ll be talking about the Album Art that I like. That is one of the benefits of 12″ vinyl albums, the cool packaging that surrounded the record. Here I’ll research the creations that we all loved as children, teenagers, and adults. I’ll try to find as much information on the artists as I can.
