Rocket Launch 04/19/25

An altimeter is a small electronic device used to measure the altitude a rocket reaches during its flight.

The weather was a little better this time, pretty hot – 86 degrees – but the wind was blowing, keeping it tolerable. That wind was strong at times, but would die down occasionally to almost nil. Kevin flew his altimeter a few times and recorded some altitudes that I’ll post below.

Bradyseism

Unlike sudden seismic events, bradyseism occurs over extended periods.

Bradyseism is a geological phenomenon characterized by the slow and gradual uplift or subsidence of the Earth’s surface, typically associated with volcanic activity. The term derives from the Greek words “brady,” meaning slow, and “seismos,” meaning earthquake.
