A great day for flying rockets. The high temperature was around 73 degrees and there was just a breeze. We had lunch and then flew our rockets. We added a new feature, filming some of the launches from underneath. Check out the video below.
We tried a video- under the pad – check it out below.

Several Cato’s this launch.

It got a little too windy causing some rockets to drift wildly, but otherwise a good day. We did have 2 catos (D12-3 and a D12-5). The temperature was a bearable 80 degrees with a lot of sun. Another fun day of launching rockets.
Joe entertained us by bringing only staged rockets.

A hot, about 90 degrees, but a great day for launching rockets. Light winds, just enough to create a cooling breeze. We had to wait on the water irrigation system to clear the launch area but after that it was smooth sailing. As always, we had a great time launching rockets.
Another fun day.

Another hot day, about 93 degrees. The wind was blowing about 25-30 mph, but occasionally would calm down so we could try to get in another flight. Joe couldn’t get this ignitor to fire a rocket, but had no trouble here. As always, we had a great time flying rockets.
Another fun launch with some wacky designs leading off.

It was our hottest day, so far, this year, topping out about 93 degrees and very humid. We were rooting for a little wind by the end of the launch. We didn’t fly too long, but as always had a great time!
One Cato of a C6 motor today

We were able to get in a launch before the afternoon thunder storms rolled in. The temperature was just above 90 degrees but the wind made in bearable, with the aid of Joe’s pop-up canopy. As always, we had a great time flying rockets.
An altimeter is a small electronic device used to measure the altitude a rocket reaches during its flight.

The weather was a little better this time, pretty hot – 86 degrees – but the wind was blowing, keeping it tolerable. That wind was strong at times, but would die down occasionally to almost nil. Kevin flew his altimeter a few times and recorded some altitudes that I’ll post below.
The AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) is a modern, radar-guided missile developed by Raytheon.

Another beautiful day, but super hot for the first day of Fall 2024. The high was 92 degrees with 89% humidity, barely a breeze. We still had a good launch, beginning early and leaving about lunchtime. We had a good launch, with the rocket recoveries being short walks.
Kevin’s scratch-built Bullet Skeet flew spectacularly on 3 x C5-0s. I also learned how to spell Hors d’oeuvre.

We decided to get an early start and beat the heat. It was 72 degrees F at 9am and 84 degrees F when we left around noon. I noticed that it was up to 90 degrees F when we left the restaurant, where we had lunch, at about 1:30 pm. The sky was clear with a slightly increasing breeze through the morning. We had a great time.
Our Roy Green Memorial Launch

It had been a while since our last launch but this was a great day weather-wise. Rather hot, muggy, but hardly a breeze. It was our first launch since our rocketry friend Roy Green died, so I’m dedicating this launch to him.
