Jimmy Buffett Dies

So how did Jimmy describe his music? Well, in the late 70s he called it “Drunken Caribbean Rock ‘n’ Roll!” These days, however, “Gulf and Western” is the preferred descriptor for fans—and even Buffett himself!

Buffett was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and raised in Mobile, Alabama. James Delaney Buffett, often referred to as J.D. Buffett, was Jimmy’s father who worked for the Army Corps of Engineers.
