Stanley Booth, born on January 5, 1942, in Waycross, Georgia, was a distinguished American music journalist renowned for his in-depth chronicles of Southern musicians and the rock ‘n’ roll scene. He earned a degree in English and art history from Memphis State University in 1963, where he developed a lifelong friendship with fellow student Jim Dickinson1.

Rock of Gibraltar

Geoffrey Arnold Beck (Jeff Beck) was born June 24, 1944, to Arnold and Ethel Beck at 206 Demesne Road, Wallington, South London. As a boy, he sang in the choir and cited Les Paul as the first guitarist that impressed him.

My next entry into my music hall of fame is The Rolling Stones. Their music has been on the radio since I was 5 years old and I hear their songs everyday still. Their 1964 single, a cover of Holly and the Crickets “Not Fade Away” has always been one of my favorites.

Charlie Robert Watts was born June 2, 1941 at University College Hospital in Bloomsbury, London. His dad was Charles Richard Watts, a lorry driver for the London, Midland and Scottish Railway, and his mom was Lillian Charlotte (née Eaves).
