Brian Wilson Dies

“The maestro has passed.”

Brian Wilson was born on Sunday, June 20, 1942, in Inglewood, California, growing up in Hawthorne alongside his brothers Carl and Dennis. Brian was the first child of Audree Neva (née Korthof) and Murry Wilson, a machinist who later pursued songwriting part-time. From a young age, he displayed precocious musical talent—learning piano, crafting vocal harmonies, and teaching his siblings to sing.

Johnny Tillotson, Clem Burke, Jay North, and Richard Chamberlain Dies

Several notable artists have passed away in early 2025.

This group have recorded 16 albums, had “Poetry in Motion” a #2 single; drummed on 11 albums with Blondie, played on albums with the Ramones, Eurythmics and Pete Townshend; played “Dennis the Menace” in 146 episodes, and appeared on many TV shows; and played “Dr. Kildare” on TV, had several Top 40 singles, and appeared in “The Towering Inferno” movie.

Vic Flick Dies

In 1962, Flick played the iconic guitar riff for the “James Bond Theme” in the first Bond film, Dr. No.

Vic Flick is an iconic English musician and composer best known for his association with the James Bond franchise and his significant contributions to film and television music. Victor Harold Flick was born on May 14, 1937, in Worcester Park, Surrey, England. Growing up in a musical family, Flick became interested in music and began learning the piano. However, his fascination with the guitar began in his teenage years, inspired by the evolving sounds of jazz and skiffle music during the 1950s. He honed his skills on the guitar, eventually becoming proficient in both classical and contemporary styles.

Mac Davis Dies at 78

Lubbock, Texas singer, songwriter Mac Davis died September 29, 2020, after becoming critically ill after heart surgery. After high school, Mac moved to Atlanta and formed a rock band called the Zots. It wasn’t long before he got his start a songwriter in Nancy Sinatra’s company, Boots Enterprises. He would play on many of her recordings and she even worked him into her stage shows.
