Some excitement with a few Catos

A good day for flying rockets. It was about 82 degrees, with a pretty stiff breeze. There was a couple of long recovery walks, due to the wind, and we had a few motor failures. As always, we still managed to have a good time flying rockets.

John Lodge, Diane Keaton, Chris Dreja, and Sonny Curtis Dies

Some great musicians and a wonderful film star have passed.

These artists were the bassist for the Moody Blues; acted in The Godfather series of movies, Play It Again Sam, Reds, and many more; was the bassist for the Yardbirds and Box of Frogs; and was in Buddy Holly’s band the Crickets, and wrote the theme song for the Mary Tyler Moore Show.

Herbert Rudley was an American character actor known for his versatile career in film, television, stage, and radio over several decades. He was born on March 22, 1910, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Rudley’s early interest in the arts led him to study at Temple University before continuing his dramatic education at the Eva Le Gallienne Civic Repertory Theatre in New York City.

Several notable artists have passed away in early 2025.

This group have recorded 16 albums, had “Poetry in Motion” a #2 single; drummed on 11 albums with Blondie, played on albums with the Ramones, Eurythmics and Pete Townshend; played “Dennis the Menace” in 146 episodes, and appeared on many TV shows; and played “Dr. Kildare” on TV, had several Top 40 singles, and appeared in “The Towering Inferno” movie.

Rocket Launch 12/07/2024

Kevin started us with a Flash Pan launch.

Wow, what a beautiful day! There was not a cloud in the sky, light winds, and the temperature was in the low 50s, very comfortable. We had one Cato, but most of the flights were perfect, most landing for easy recovery by Wyatt, who volunteered to recover most of the flights.
