Welcome to Doyle’s Space

Who? What? When? Where? Why? How?

Who?

I’m Doyle Tatum, born in Atlanta, moved to Alpharetta at age 4, lived there for 53 years, and moved to Decatur in 2016. I’ve worked at such places as Richway, North Fulton Medical Center, Management Science America (Computer Tech/Project Manager), and Stacy’s Compounding Pharmacy (Pharmacy Tech). I even owned a record store in Atlanta called “Circle Sky Records”.

What?

I’ve created a blog called “Doyle’s Space” which has a multitude of categories.

When?

I make a new post every day. I plan to keep this up as long as I can. IStarted the every day thing in May of 2020.

Where?

The only way to arrive on this page is by using the QR code on my card, but you can always just start at doyletatum.com. Typing “Doyle’s Space” into Google usually works too.

Why?

I do it for me. I enjoy learning interesting things. I try to tell the story, not only in words but in photos too. It calms and relaxes me to research through a multitude of sources and compile them into a story.

How?

How do I come up with the crazy subjects I write about? It is just the way I think, like why are they called pineapples, who invented Red Hots, what are “B” batteries, what is the Fox Theatre’s Mighty Mo, who is Dr. Lucie Green, why do dogs tilt their heads, why do we yawn, what is Rickrolling. I write about music I like and even have my own Music Hall of Fame. I include old articles from our old record store’s fan’zine called “Melody Hill”. The manager of Circle Sky, Donnie, is writing a series on his adventures of “Record Collecting” through the years. I also delve into space, astronomy, and my hobby of building and flying model rockets. I’m really into pop culture and vintage things as well as toys and games. I write about things I hear from friends, TV, Movies, and podcasts. I like to cook (and eat) so those are subjects that get my attention. I have a cat and dog sit occasionally so I like to find interesting tidbits about animals and pets.
