1917 (2019)

I watched this 2019 Sam Mendes written and directed movie on Netflix DVD. It was filmed in the U.K. and features long continuous shots that make you feel as if you’re in a video game.

There is only one way this war ends. Last man standing.

Colonel MacKenzie (1917)

The film features groundbreaking camera work, no landscape repeats and realistic trenches which were dug for the film, over a miles worth. If I ever buy the Blu-ray I’ll definitely watch it through twice, once with commentary by Sam Mendes and again with Director of Photography Roger Deakins. I also really liked the orchestral score by Thomas Newman.

This movie is superb, I will give it 4.5 out of 5. I give the extras on the disc a 5 out of 5. For more on the movie check Wikipedia, IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.
