
Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, the Danish pianist, died July 28, 2020 at 96 years old. He started a jazz ensemble and a record label, Metronome Records, after World War II. He is best known for his song Alley Cat on ATCO records which hit #2 on the Adult Contemporary Chart and

#7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1961. It also won him the Grammy for Best Instrumental. Bent did extensive work on film scores from 1958-2010 and released 9 Pop/Jazz albums between 1962 and 1968.
