Nehi Grape

Nehi soft drink was started in 1924 by Chero-Cola/Union Bottle Works, it was renamed Nehi Corporation in 1928 after the flavored drink were popular. In 1955 Claud A. Hatcher, a Columbus Georgia grocer, added Nehi to his RC Cola company. As of 2008, Nehi became a brand of DR Pepper Snapple Group. According to Wikipedia, in 1947 Nhi offered Dr. Nehi, Nehi Chocolate, Nehi Root Beer, Nehi Lemonade, Nehi Wild Red, Nehi Blue Cream, and its more classic flavors Nehi Orange, Nehi Grape, and Nehi Peach.

I remember riding out to Alpharetta to go to the gas station or barber with my grandfather, Doc Mize, and getting a Nehi Grape. Sometimes we would ride down to Roswell to the Rock Inn and buy fish bait and they had Nehi also in the late 60’s
