House of the Rising Sun (2011)

I watched this 2011 crime action noir move, House of the Rising Sun, based on the novel by Chuck Hustmyre. It is about Ray Shane, Dave Bautista (retired professional wrestler, former mixed martial artist and bodybuilder) an ex-vice cop, working as the head of security for the House of the Rising Sun strip club and illegal gambling den. The place is robbed and everything seems to point back to Ray, including dead bodies. He has to use his detective skills to fend off the good, police, the bad police and the mob who all want his head.

The movie also stars Amy Smart (Starship Troopers, Varsity Blues, Road Trip, The Butterfly Effect, Felicity, Robot Chicken), Danny Trejo (From Dusk till Dawn, Desperado, Anaconda, Point Blank, Reindeer Games, Spy Kids, XXX, Once Upon a Time in Mexico,

Grindhouse, Ranchero, Predators, Machete, Death Race 2, Dead in Tombstone, Machete Kills), Dominic Purcell (Blade: Trinity, Legends of Tomorrow, The Flash, Mission Impossible 2, Killer Elite, Prison Break TV show), Craig Fairbrass (Galaxis, The Bank Job, The Outsider, Cliffhanger) and Brian Vander Ark (lead singer of Verve Pipe). The movie was filmed in Grand Rapids, Michigan and directed by Brian A. Miller (Backtrace, The Outsider, Caught in the Crossfire). The movie was ok so I’ll give it 2.5 out of 5.
