Comic Book Men

I just finished all 7 seasons of Comic Book Men an Amazon Prime video. It was an AMC television show, podcast, starring Kevin Smith (Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II, Tusk) and his employees of Jay and Silent Bob’s Secret Stash. This is a comic book store located in Red Bank, New Jersey. Sitting around a table Kevin Smith, Bryan Johnson (Mallrats, Dogma, Shooting Clerks, Making Fun: The Story of Funko, Impractical Jokers: The Movie), Walt Flanagan (Clerks, Mallrats, Vulgar),

Mike Zapcic (Shooting Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot) and Ming Chen (Dogma, Big Helium Dog, Vulgar, Jay & Silent Bob’s Super Groovy Cartoon Movie!) talk about comic books, super heroes, vintage toys and pop culture. Kevin usually starts the program off by asking Walt, the store manager, what happened this week at the Stash. The show is basically Pawn Stars for Geeks, as people bring in comics and toys to sell to the Stash.

They discuss the items and sometimes even call in an comic/pop culture/toy expert, Rob Bruce (producer for Comic Book Men, Shooting Clerks, The Grindhouse Radio) to weigh in on a possible fair price. Jason Mewes (Jay of Jay and Silent Bob) Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Vulgar, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II) drops by and hangs out in the store, causing some comedy mayhem occasionally.

They also have some cool guests like Stan Lee (Marvel Comics royalty, creator of Spider-Man, the X-Men, Iron Man, Thor, the Hulk, Ant-Man, the Wasp, the Fantastic Four, Black Panther, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, the Black Widow and Captain Marvel),

William Shatner (Captain Kirk – Star Trek), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian – Star Wars), Lou Ferrigno (The Hulk), Dean Cain (Superman), Nichelle Nichols (Lieutenant Nyota Uhura – Star Trek),

Lindsay Wagner (The Bionic Woman), Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger -A Nightmare on Elm Street), Burt Ward (Robin in Batman), Gene Simmons (KISS), Adam West (Batman) and Cassandra Peterson (Elvira) to name a few. I really enjoyed these episodes and will give the series 5 out of 5 stars. For more information read Wikipedia, IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.
