I Am C-3PO: The Inside Story by Anthony Daniels

I finished my hardcover book of I Am C-3PO: The Inside Story by Anthony Daniels. He never discusses money, in the book, but his net worth is 8 million dollars that he made in an uncomfortable android costume making 9 major Star Wars films and voicing the character in countless other cartoons and shows. This book covers the British stage actors long career as the lovable C-3PO. In his own words he tells, fun behind the scenes stories from the movies, TV shows and other Star Wars events he attended since November 14, 1975. He pulls some of his lines directly from the scripts to paint pictures of what was happening at different periods. Even huge Star Wars fanatics admit they didn’t know some of the details he reveals. For me, I found him to be a shy, talented, humorous man that would be a pleasure to know. He really cared about the character he was pretending to be.

C-3PO and R2 D2 were always stealing scenes in the movies and I enjoyed every minute of them. The 272 page book is a fun read, Anthony’s wit keeps it interesting throughout. The book is a DK publication, released November 5, 2019, ISBN-10 : 1465486100, ISBN-13 : 978-1465486103, printed in Great Britain and has a foreword by J.J. Abrams. I’ve seen all the Star Wars movies so I believe the book was probably more enjoyable since I knew of all the sets and places he discusses. I loved the book and will give it a solid 5 out of 5 stars.
