DejaBlue Grass Band

I saw the DejaBlue Grass Band the other night, for the first time, at a private birthday party for my friend Katie. I thought they were excellent with a mix of classic bluegrass and pop/rock songs in the bluegrass style.

They are based out of Atlanta, Georgia and are 5 excellent musicians, great vocals and beautiful 3-part harmonies. They also mix in songs, to their set, that they have composed which fit right in with the classics. They are Keith Stewart (Fiddle), Randy Rudderman (Banjo, Vocals), Joseph “JB” Bowers (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar),

Rutland Walker (Vocals, Mandolin, Guitar, Lyricist), Dr. Mark Lehi Jones (Vocals, Bass, Harp). They have been performing for 20+ years and have some nice photos on their website you should check out. I liked the whole show, loved Shine, Junior’s Farm, Wicked Game, Till Death Do Us Part and Smokey Mountain Lullaby.

As you experienced last night,  we enjoy “bringing people to Bluegrass” through songs they might find familiar. You’ll see that, in our sets, we play pop, rock, country and even a little gospel while weaving in our own originals as well as a few traditional Bluegrass tunes as well. We inevitably experience folks coming up to us after a performance to say, “thanks – I didn’t think I liked Bluegrass until I heard you guys!”  🙂
