The 6 foot, 6 inch Ben Hansen is a licensed land and sea airplane pilot, an amateur radio operator, licensed falconer, certified SCUBA diver, hang glider, EMT, Search and Rescue dog handler, and Eagle Scout in Boy Scouts. He was born September 23, 1977, in Utah, the second oldest to the six siblings.
He graduated with honors from the University of Utah with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology with Abnormal Psychology emphasis, certification in Criminology and Corrections, a Spanish minor, and a year of study abroad completed in Australia.
He was a part of the Utah County Sex Crimes Task Force. After a few years on the task force, Ben was invited to join the FBI as a Special Agent. After six years on the force, Ben was invited by the SyFy network to work on a reality TV series. “Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files” is a paranormal investigation series produced by Base Productions that began airing on July 15, 2010.
The premise was centered around Ben and a group of five investigators, one is Jaél de Pardo that I have written about, who traveled the world debunking mysteries.
In 2016, Ben was invited to work on a new reality series entitled “Paranormal Lockdown”. This show has renowned Paranormal Investigators spend 72 hours locked down in haunted locations to try to capture groundbreaking evidence.
In 2019, Ben was a part of the 8-episode series, “Ghosts of Morgan City”. The series saw Ben pair up with two other paranormal investigators to resolve cases of strange occurring in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana.
On Ghosts of Morgan City, we captured an amazing video from our surveillance IR camera as I was watching the live feed. It appears that a full body apparition walks across a doorway in the old plantation home we were investigating. Unless there was an illusion of transparency caused by the motion blur of a real person who had inadvertently entered the home without our knowledge, then we undoubtedly captured extraordinary evidence.Ben Hansen
Ben is a commercial drone pilot and teaches advanced firearms, active shooter response, and CPR courses as an instructor. He also owns a line of night vision and thermal camera business called Night Vision Ops. Ben married Kelli Hansen on May 5, 2015.
Ben has worked as a consultant in episodes of shows like “The Osbournes Want to Believe” and “UFOs Declassified”. He was the producer of the TV special “Alien Abduction: Betty and Barney Hill”.
He appeared in “Filmed in Utah”, “Spacing Out”, “Epic Mysteries: Bigfoot”, “Haunted Travels”, “Mysteries at the National Parks”, “Portals to Hell”, “Inducted”, “Daily Blast Live”, “Roswell: The Final Verdict”, “Shock Docs”, “Alien Encounters: Declassified”, “Ghost Hunters”, and “UFO Witness”.
His latest show, that I’ve seen, is “UFO Witness”. In cooperation with former Project Blue Book investigator Jennie Zeidman, Ben reopens case files of some of the most astounding UFO encounters in history, files that have been hidden from the public for decades. The new series, UFO Witness, launched Thursday, January 14, 2021.
- Project Blue Book was the code name for the systematic study of unidentified flying objects by the United States Air Force from March 1952 to its termination on December 17, 1969. The project, headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, was initially directed by Captain Edward J. Ruppelt and followed projects of a similar nature such as Project Sign established in 1947, and Project Grudge in 1948. Project Blue Book had two goals, namely, to determine if UFOs were a threat to national security, and to scientifically analyze UFO-related data. Thousands of UFO reports were collected, analyzed, and filed. As a result of the Condon Report, which concluded that the study of UFOs was unlikely to yield major scientific discoveries, and a review of the report by the National Academy of Sciences, Project Blue Book was terminated in 1969.
