I watched Tri-Star Pictures, 1999 military science fiction movie, Universal Soldier: The Return, the sequel to Universal Soldier, on Netflix DVD. Luc Deveraux is now acting as a technical expert for the governments Universal Soldier program. The S.E.T.H. computer program learns that the UniSol Program is being shut down and comes up with a plan to use the soldiers to take over. This movie was directed by Mic Rodgers (he is famous for his stunt work, Hacksaw Ridge, Braveheart, Transformers, Thor, Iron Man, Lethal Weapon) in his directorial debut.
Luc Deveraux is again played by Jean-Claude Van Damme, S.E.T.H. is Michael Jai White, Erin is Heidi Schanz (Seven, Kiss the Girls, The Truman Show, TV episodes of Men Behaving Badly, Timecop, Just Shoot Me!), Xander Berkeley (Mommie Dearest, The Rookie, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, A Few Good Men, Apollo 13, Leaving Las Vegas, Poison Ivy II: Lily, Barb Wire, The Rock, Air Force One, Taken, Year One, TV episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, 24, Nikita, The Walking Dead),
and Bill Goldberg (University of Georgia Football player, Pro Football player, Wrestler). The movie is not that great, a lot of bad acting and some good shooting and boat scenes. The movie was filmed at the abandoned Super Collider in Texas. I’ll give this movie 1.8 out of 5 stars. For more information read Wikipedia, IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.
