I watched Tri-Star Pictures, 1992 military science fiction movie, Universal Soldier on Netflix DVD. This is about soldiers that were killed in Vietnam, 1969) and brought back to life, in a super secret program, as an elite counter-terrorism unit. A problem arises when some of the soldiers start to get their memories back. The film is directed by Roland Emmerich (Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla, The Patriot, Midway)
and Joel B. Michaels (The Philadelphia Experiment, Stargate, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Basic Instinct 2, Terminator Salvation).
This action packed movie stars Jean-Claude Van Damme (Nowhere to Run, Last Action Hero, Hard Target, Timecop, Street Fighter, Sudden Death, Universal Soldier: The Return, Universal Soldier: Regeneration, The Expendables 2, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, Welcome to the Jungle) and Dolph Lundgren (A View to a Kill, Rocky IV, He-Man in Masters of the Universe, Frank Castle in The Punisher, Johnny Mnemonic, Universal Soldier: Regeneration,
The Expendables, The Expendables 2, Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, The Expendables 3, Kindergarten Cop 2, King Nereus in Aquaman). Other stars are Ally Walker (Doctor Samantha Waters in the TV series Profiler, Agent June Stahl in Sons of Anarchy),
Universal Soldier: The Return, Exit Wounds, Kill Bill: Volume 2, Gambol in The Dark Knight, Ben Turner / Bronze Tiger in the TV series Arrow) and Ralf Möller (Batman & Robin, Conan in Conan the Adventurer, Hagen in Gladiator, Thorak in The Scorpion King, The Tourist, Breach).
The film’s trailer re-uses music from Terminator 2:Judgement Day and the Vietnam scenes were filmed at the Kingman, Arizona golf course with set dressings and fake foliage. Though they’re all supposed to be American, the Universal Soldiers are played by a Belgian (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a Swede (Dolph Lundgren), and a German (Ralf Moeller). The video game for the movie came out on the Sega Mega Drive and the Game Boy. I like the movie and will give it 3.2 out of 5. For more information read Wikipedia, IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes.
