Fire with Fire (2012)

Revenge has its own set of rules

I watched the 2012 Lionsgate movie “Fire with Fire” on Netflix DVD. Firefighter Jeremy is at a convenience store that is being harassed by an Aryan Brotherhood crime boss David Hagan who kills the owner’s son and then the owner. Jeremy escapes and is recruited to testify against the crime boss which he agrees to. The local task force is lead by Mike Cella and his partner Talia Durham. Cella has previous ties with the crime boss and wants him badly.

The movie is produced by 50 Cent who also plays Lamar in the movie. The director is  David Barrett (Director of TV episodes of Blue Bloods, Star Trek: Discovery, Under the Dome, The Mentalist, Once Upon a Time, The Mentalist, Castle, V, NCIS: Los Angeles, Smallville).

Jeremy is played by Josh Duhamel (Transformer movies, TV episodes of All My Children, Las Vegas, Crossing Jordan, many voice roles), David Hagan is played by Vincent D’Onofrio (American actor, director, and producer. He is known for his supporting and leading roles in both film and television), Boyd is Vinnie Jones (an English-Welsh actor, producer, singer, presenter, and former professional footballer), Wallace is Quinton Jackson (American mixed martial artist, actor and former professional wrestler, The A-Team),

Mike Cella is played by Bruce Willis, Talia Durham is Rosario Dawson (Josie and the Pussycats, Men in Black II, Sin City, Rent, Clerks II, Death Proof, Killshot, Wonder Woman, Unstoppable, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Unforgettable, Zombieland: Double Tap, lots of voice roles),

Hagan’s attorney is Richard Schiff (The Bodyguard, Ghost in the Machine, Sped, Major League II, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, I Am Sam, TV episodes of Relativity, The West Wing, Roswell, Burn Notice, House of Lies) and

the hitman is played by Julian McMahon (Fantastic Four movies, RED, Paranoia, TV episodes such as Charmed, Another World, Profiler, Nip/Tuck, FBI: Most Wanted). This is the perfect role for Vincent D’Onofrio and he plays it to a tee. He is so believable as a psychopath! Vinnie Jones is also perfect in his tough-guy role, I enjoyed his performance as always. Rosario Dawson is also very good in her part as well.

I enjoyed this movie and would watch it again for Bruce Willis and Vincent D’Onofrio parts alone. I’ll give it 3.9 out of 5 stars. For more information read Wikipedia, IMDB, and Rotten Tomatoes.
