When I first started my smart home a few years ago and you tried to have a group of devices play music they were out of sync. I just gave up on doing that.

But, recently Amazon came out with the “Everywhere Group”. Now you can simply say “Alexa, play [music/radio/siriusxm] everywhere”. She will respond “playing your [music/radio/podcast] on the everywhere group”. Now any Echo device, with a speaker, on the same wi-fi network will start playing your choice in sync.

Playing everywhere is great because I can work around the house and still hear the radio, podcast, music, sporting event etc. whether I’m on one side of the house, the other side, the garage, outdoors in the shed or in the basement, I love it!

If you have devices all over your homestead, like me, you can choose the ones you want in the group. But I learned something very valuable today. If you choose more than ten (10) devices you’ll experience problems. I removed my extra devices and the problems have ceased.

In the Alexa App, on my phone, I click devices and scroll to the bottom where I find speaker groups. Click on “Everywhere”. You can count your devices in the group here. It must be 10 or less! On my computer app it is under Multi-Room Music.

Simply select the devices you want in the group and click save changes. On my phone you have to click edit to get started doing this but it works the same. Remember, 10 or less!
