
Things that are awesome leave us in “awe” (an overwhelming feeling of reverence, admiration, fear, etc., produced by that which is grand, sublime, extremely powerful, or the like). That new shirt looks awesome or your haircut is awesome are incorrect uses of the term, “awesome”.

Apollo 11 landing on the Moon and Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walking on the Moon – those historic moments were awesome! Viewing the Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) in person would be awesome. Watching the Egyptian pyramids being constructed would have been awesome. Seeing the stones at Stonehenge in England being erected into place would be awesome.

Actually seeing the Beatles live would have been awesome. Finding a cure for cancer, Alzheimers, or the like, would be awesome. Creating the vaccines that prevent getting Covid-19 is awesome. Watching Babe Ruth hit a home run would have been awesome. Watching the Braves win their second World Series as an Atlanta team was awesome.

Actually seeing and documenting Bigfoot would be awesome. Traveling into space would be awesome. Humans landing on Mars would be awesome. The first stage of the SpaceX rocket landing safely on the Autonomous Spaceport Drone Ship is awesome. Finding the treasure on Oak Island would be awesome. There actually being superheroes like Superman or Batman would be awesome. Getting all my items completed on My Bucket List would be awesome.
