Four Years and Counting

One of my newest musical categories is 12″ Inch Singles.

Yes, it’s true! I’ve published at least one blog post everyday for the past four years. As of today I have posted 1663 articles, containing 1,158,371 words. My most popular categories have been Music, Paranormal, History, Science, Movies and TV, and Donnie’s Atlanta Record Shopping Memories.

I just entered my 20th inductee into my Doyle’s Space Music Hall of Fame, Elton John. It is a lot of fun honoring some of my favorite Artists. Last year (2023), I added The Gummy Awards (Bubblegum Music), and Songwriters Award which honors the best songwriters or songwriting teams in musical history.

My Omni Coliseum – 70s Concerts and 80s Concerts posts have been extremely popular. It took a while but was fun looking back on all of the concerts that had been enjoyed at that, now defunct, Atlanta venue. I still need to finish up the series with the 90s shows!

I continue trying to post about the famous folks we are losing all the time. Fortunately most have lived a good long life, but it is always sad. My latest have been, Richard Tandy (keybordist for the Electric Light Orchestra), O.J. Simpson (football/movies), and Louis Gossett Jr. (actor).

One of my newest musical categories is 12″ Inch Singles. I have always enjoyed collecting records like that and will continue to post about them. I have a large selection of The Bangles and Prince. The first two I posted were “Be With You” (Bangles) and “Touch and Go”(Emerson, Lake & Powell).

I listen to a lot of podcasts, while driving and compounding at the pharmacy. I get many ideas from these including Jumbo Machinder (Monster Party Podcast), Costume Designer – Hardy Amies (Monster Party Podcast), Cat’s-Ear Weed (Green & Growing Podcast), Wild Onions or Wild Garlic? (Green & Growing Podcast), Gravitational Lenses (Startalk w/Neil deGrasse Tyson), and Moon Trees (Startalk w/Neil deGrasse Tyson).

I also get ideas from my friends just talking about something of interest like Circular Rainbow and Yonah Mountain (Beau Howard) and Freshwater Snails (Tim Worley).
