In a special Marvel Comics crossover, Marvel Team-Up #41-45 released October 28, 1975, Cotton Mather the Witchslayer’s storyline intersects with the Marvel Universe.

In this plot, Mather travels to the future, captures the Scarlet Witch, and brings her back to the past. Spider-Man and the Vision pursue them to prevent her execution at the hands of Salem’s villagers. Despite their efforts, Mather and the villagers capture Spider-Man, the Vision, and the Scarlet Witch.

This crossover blends Spider-Man’s modern heroics with Mather’s historical and supernatural expertise, exploring themes of time travel, justice, and the clash between different eras and moral codes. Bill Mantlo crafts the narrative, bringing together historical and superhero elements, while Sal Buscema provides the dynamic and engaging artwork that brings the characters and their adventures to life.
