Another bad day for a rocket launch. It was one of those “Winnie the Pooh” blustery days. The winds were really bad with the temperature in the mid-80s. The only bonus was that it didn’t feel that hot, because of the wind. We didn’t fly too many rockets because the walks were just going to be too long.

CHAD staging in rocketry is a slang term that stands for “Cheap and Dirty” staging. It involves attaching a booster motor to the rear of a single-stage rocket, usually by taping them together. This method creates a two-stage rocket without the need for a separate booster stage with fins. The booster motor is typically attached directly to the main motor, and the rocket must be very stable to accommodate the added mass from the booster without fins for stabilization. There is an extra safety concern as the booster motor will fall separately without the tumbling action that fins would provide, potentially causing hazards.
