Geoff Stephens Dies

Geoff Stephens was born October 1, 1934 in New Southgate, North London, England. He started out writing songs for amateur theatricals while working as a school teacher, air traffic controller and silk screen printer. His first hit was in 1964, “Tell Me When”, co-written with Les Reed, a Top 10 hit for The Applejacks. Later that same year, with Peter Eden, he discovered and managed Donovan.

The Craft (1996)

I finally watched this 1996 Columbia Pictures film “The Craft” on Netflix DVD. This movie was produced by Douglas Wick (Wolf, Girl Interrupted, Gladiator, Hollow Man, Spy Game, Divergent Series) and directed by Andrew Fleming (Dick, Nancy Drew, The Craft: Legacy, TV like Grosse Pointe, Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings). The new girl joins three teenage witches, at her new high school, to pursue witchcraft for their own gain which they find has repercussions.

Covers – La Grange by ZZ Top

La Grange, by ZZ Top, was on their 1973 album Tres Hombres and reached number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was written by Billy Gibbons, Dusty Hill and Frank Beard. Here it is covered by “that little ole band from Peanuts”, Charlie Brown (Guitar and Vocals), Snoopy (Bass) and Pig-Pen (Drums).
