Tarantula! (1955)

I watched the 1955 science fiction, giant monster horror movie “Tarantula!” on Svengoolie. The Universal-International flick is produced by William Alland (This Island Earth, It Came From Outer Space, The Deadly Mantis, The Mole People, The Colossus of New York, The Space Children, and the three Creature from the Black Lagoon films) and directed by Jack Arnold (It Came from Outer Space, Creature from the Black Lagoon and The Incredible Shrinking Man).

A lab experiment goes horribly wrong growing lab specimens to giant proportions, like the Tarantula. The movie stars Leo G. Carroll (six Hitchcock films, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Topper), John Agar (married to Shirley Temple, The Mole People, Revenge of the Creature, Chisum, King Kong), Mara Corday (The Giant Claw, Sudden Impact, Pink Cadillac, The Rookie, Playboy Playmate 1958) , Nestor Paiva (Zorro, Sign of Zorro, Creature of the Black Lagoon, Revenge of the Creature),

Raymond Bailey (Milburn Drysdale on the Beverly Hillbillies), Hank Patterson (Hank Miller on Gunsmoke and Fred Ziffel on Petticoat Junction and Green Acres) and uncredited Clint Eastwood as the jet squadron leader. This is a very good movie so I’ll give it a solid 3 out of 5 stars. For more read Wikipedia and IMDB.
