Rocket Launch 06/21/25

Another fun launch with some wacky designs leading off.

It was our hottest day, so far, this year, topping out about 93 degrees and very humid. We were rooting for a little wind by the end of the launch. We didn’t fly too long, but as always had a great time!

The Estes Air Commander #3219 is a model rocket kit that can be flown as a single stage or 2-stage rocket, reaching estimated maximum altitudes of 2250 feet. It stands over 30 inches tall, with a length of 32.5 inches (82.5 cm) and a diameter of 1.33 inches (33 mm). The kit includes laser-cut wood fins, waterslide decals, and a 18-inch parachute for recovery. It is recommended for skill level 2 and requires standard engines such as C11-3, D12-5, D12-7 for single-stage flights, or combinations like C11-0 & C11-5, C11-0 & D12-5 or D12-7, D12-0 & C11-5 or C11-7 or D12-5 or D12-7 for two-stage flights. The kit is suitable for boys and girls ages 10+ with adult supervision for those under 12.
