I love collecting things but I haven’t started my Hair Collection. I heard on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio that a baseball size clump of Elvis Presley’s hair had sold at auction for over $72,000 dollars.
They can even be trained!
I grew up seeing these ads in magazines and comic books. I always wondered about them but never pulled the trigger and purchased one. It seems that Sea-Monkeys are brine shrimp (Artemia). They were developed in the United States in 1957 by Harold von Braunhut.

The magazine that would eventually become the classic “TV Guide” was developed by Lee Wagner (circulation director of MacFadden Publications in New York City). In 1948, he released “The TeleVision Guide” with New York City listings. The cover of the first issue featured Gloria Swanson who was star of the short lived “The Gloria Swanson Hour”. He would expand to the New England and the Baltimore–Washington areas. In 1953 he sold the editions to Walter Annenberg who folded the operation into his Triangle Publications.

I say it all the time, I know what it means, but how did they come up with that phrase? Meaning that it is not alive, unequivocally deceased it can be figuratively or literally defunct – the phone line is deader than a door nail or that possum, you ran over, is as dead as a doornail.

My first experience with a Cherry flavored Coca-Cola was at Alpha Drugs, in Alpharetta, Georgia, when I was in Elementary School. My friend, Ross Stephens, would order it at the fountain and one day I did too, and I liked it!

I recently got a 1954 bottle from Walter, that he found at his parent’s Lawhorn Farm in Thomasville, Georgia. This particular bottle was bottled in Valdosta, Georgia. I thought I would do a little research on NuGrape Soda.
I’ve been using Testors paint and plastic model cement all my life. I’ve used them for building model cars, planes, militaria, space ships, and monster models. I was always hunting down the appropriate enamel colors to paint these models.
I can’t tell you how many Igloo Coolers my family and I have owned through the years. As a child, I remember the metal ones and later, when I was buying, they were lighter, but sturdy, plastic. Daddy had one of these metal water coolers that he used when he played softball. It was eventually replaced with a fancy plastic model. Igloo began in 1947 as a metal working shop that made these metal water coolers. In 1960 they merged with Production Tooling Company and renamed themselves Texas Tennessee Industries (TTI).
Dawn dish soap was introduced in 1973 by Proctor & Gamble Company. My Mom started using it then and never looked back. I have never found anything that removes grease better and most don’t come near. The owners at the compounding pharmacy bought one of those “Compare to Dawn” cheapo brands and it was awful. You would have to wash twice as much and it would never really be as clean as Dawn.
